Job Title: Accounts Payable Assistant

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Assistant to join our team at FinTech Recruitment Solutions. As an Accounts Payable Assistant, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our client's accounts payable function.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Approve supplier invoices, referring to purchase order details, and query any discrepancies with the purchasing department.
  • Ensure appropriate cost codes are allocated to invoices.
  • Enter approved invoices into our ERP system.
  • Check supplier statements to ensure all invoices have been received and paid.
  • Process BACS and cheque payments, and perform bank reconciliations.
  • Liaise with suppliers to confirm payment dates and queries.
  • Communicate with the purchasing department to expedite pro forma invoice payments.
  • Perform a second check of expenses after initial approval from operations teams, and collate information required for processing payments.
  • Collate credit card statements.
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns.
  • Review non-cash revenue reports to ensure all non-conformance reports are documented for accounting purposes.
  • Assist with tax and audit requests as instructed.
  • Be flexible to provide support within the accounts department as needed.

Requirements:

  • Circa 2 years' experience in a similar role.
  • A hands-on, proactive attitude.
  • Ability to work independently but also as part of a small, friendly team.
  • Ability to prioritize a busy workload.
