Job Title: Theatre Team Leader

We are seeking an experienced Theatre Team Leader to join our team at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Trust. As a Theatre Team Leader, you will be responsible for leading a team of nurses and operating department practitioners in the theatre department.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of nurses and operating department practitioners in the theatre department
  • Ensure the smooth running of theatre lists and the effective deployment of staff
  • Teach and supervise pre-registration students, unqualified staff, registered nurses, and ODPs
  • Maintain a safe environment for patients undergoing surgery
  • Act as a role model and lead a team, providing skilled assistance to the surgical team

Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse/ODP registered on the NMC/HCPC Register
  • Current evidence-based practice
  • Three years' experience within an acute setting
  • Two years' relevant experience at Band 5 in the theatre environment
  • Supervision of junior staff/others
  • Experience of managing a theatre suite in the absence of the department co-ordinator
