Job Overview

Cambian West is seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team in Newmarket. As an Occupational Therapy Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing assessments and interventions for young people with complex mental health needs.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with children and adolescents, particularly those with trauma-informed approaches. A strong understanding of the Model of Human Occupation is essential, as well as excellent communication, organisational and time management skills.

We offer a competitive salary of up to £45,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits including regular clinical supervision, peer supervision, and developmental opportunities.

About the Role

This is a therapeutic children residential care setting where you will work alongside Psychiatry, Psychologists, Occupational Therapy Assistants, Educators, Practice Nurses, Therapeutic Practitioners, and Residential Care Workers. As part of a multi-professional clinical team, you will be responsible for assessment of an individual's Occupational Therapy needs, and delivery of 1:1 and group interventions.

You will also have the opportunity to develop management and supervision skills, while taking responsibility for supervision of Occupational Therapy assistants already in post. Alongside this, you will provide training, support, and consultation to the team working with the young person.

Required Skills and Qualifications

* BSc or an Msc in Occupational Therapy
* Registered with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC)
* Registered with RCOT
* Experience in working in Mental Health, and working with a trauma informed approach
* Strong team player
* Excellent communication, organisational and time management skills
