About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Head of Engineering (NPD | Mechanical) to join our client, a leading manufacturer of scientific instrumentation. As a key member of the leadership team, you will be responsible for driving the development of new products and achieving project deadlines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a small but growing R&D team, comprising five staff, on a daily basis, including recruitment, 1-2-1's, training, and mentoring.
  • Provide technical oversight and leadership, getting involved with the design elements of products, and overall project management of new and existing product development projects.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve product development processes and increase efficiency.
Requirements
  • Degree educated in a relevant Engineering Discipline, ideally Mechanical, but other disciplines will be considered.
  • Experience in successfully delivering NPD projects in a technical engineering sector.
  • Expertise in planning, controlling, and delivering NPD projects.
  • Experience leading a multidiscipline engineering design team, including mechanical engineers with electronics/software/mechatronics expertise.
What We Offer

An excellent salary of up to £75,000, plus a yearly profit share bonus, pension, and flexible working.
