Head of Engineering and NPD

Job Summary:
MARS Recruitment is seeking an experienced Head of Engineering (NPD | Mechanical) to lead a small but growing R&D team in Woodstock, Oxfordshire. The successful candidate will have full accountability for Engineering and NPD, with a focus on getting new products to market and achieving project deadlines.
About the Role:
The Head of Engineering (NPD | Mechanical) will be responsible for managing a team of five staff, including recruitment, 1-2-1's, training, and mentoring. The role requires technical oversight and leadership, with involvement in design elements of products and overall project management of new and existing product development projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver NPD projects successfully, with experience in planning, controlling, and delivering projects.
- Lead a multidiscipline engineering design team, comprising mechanical engineers with electronics/software/mechatronics expertise.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve project delivery and team performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives.
Requirements:
- Degree educated in a relevant Engineering Discipline, ideally Mechanical.
- Proven track record of successfully working in a similar role.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
