Job Description

At Lufthansa Technik Landing Gear Services UK, we are seeking a skilled Tool Maker to join our team.

Main Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain a range of machine tools, including milling machines, lathes, and grinders, as well as hand tools.
  • Use precision measuring instruments to ensure accurate measurements and quality control.
  • Manufacture, service, and repair tools, assembly jigs, and fixtures to support the development of new products and existing products.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production personnel to advise on tool design and assist in reviewing and checking processes.
  • Manufacture tooling to assist in assembly and testing of prototypes.
Requirements
  • Engineering Apprenticeship preferred but not essential.
  • GCSE level or equivalent education.
  • Toolroom experience is desirable, but good all-round experience within a workshop environment is essential.
  • Good working knowledge of mathematics and workshop practice to at least City and Guilds Engineering standard.
  • Working knowledge of welding techniques, including Gas, Mig, Tig, and Stick Welding.
  • Disciplines in the use of CNC machinery, lathes, grinding, milling, and toolroom machinery.
  • Ability to read and work from engineering drawings.
  • Team player with good communication skills.
  • Flexible approach to work and ability to work with tight deadlines.
