Lufthansa Technik Landing Gear Services UK is seeking a skilled and dedicated Tool Maker to join our team.

In this role, you will be responsible for the design, manufacture, maintenance, and repair of essential tooling used in our landing gear operations. Your expertise will directly contribute to ensuring the precision and efficiency of our critical processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate a range of machine tools including milling machines, lathes, and grinders with precision and accuracy.
  • Utilize advanced measuring instruments to ensure dimensional correctness and adherence to specifications.
  • Develop and implement tooling solutions for various applications, collaborating closely with engineering teams.
  • Provide expert guidance on tooling design principles and best practices to optimize performance and longevity.
  • Contribute to a collaborative work environment by effectively communicating with production personnel and supporting team objectives.

Qualifications:

  • A recognized Engineering Apprenticeship is highly preferred, demonstrating your practical skills and theoretical knowledge.
  • A minimum educational attainment of GCSE level or equivalent is required.
  • Proven experience in a workshop environment, showcasing your hands-on abilities and attention to detail.
  • A strong understanding of mathematical principles and their application in workshop practices.
  • Proficiency in operating CNC machinery and traditional tool room equipment.
  • The ability to interpret and work from engineering drawings with accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills, enabling effective collaboration within a team setting.
  • A flexible and adaptable approach to work, readily responding to changing priorities and deadlines.
