Job Summary

Godspeed Workforce is seeking a skilled Tool and Die Maker to join our team. As a key member of our manufacturing department, you will be responsible for assembling and trialing dies in the press using feed equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble dies, including lining up punches and cutting to steels, to ensure precision and accuracy.
  • Develop and adjust dies as necessary to achieve optimal results.
  • Collaborate with the quality team and design group to identify and resolve issues with part specifications.
  • Set up dies in press, coil, and feeder for progressive dies, ensuring efficient production.
  • Participate in design reviews with the design and floor groups to ensure alignment with company goals.
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance workflow and productivity.
  • Travel to customer facilities as needed to support production and provide technical expertise.
  • Train and guide new Toolmaker apprentices to ensure knowledge transfer and skill development.
  • Unload/load trucks as required, maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Perform welding and painting tasks as needed to support die maintenance and repair.
  • Maintain accurate records and information in press binders to facilitate communication and collaboration.
  • Work closely with the afternoon shift to ensure smooth transitions and efficient handoffs.
  • Utilize the viewer to review die designs and ensure accuracy in press and floor work.

Requirements

  • Licensed Tool and Die Maker or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of press experience.
  • Forklift and overhead crane experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of GD&T callouts/symbols.
  • Machining/grinding experience considered an asset.
  • Able to work overtime as required.

Working Conditions

  • Exposure to dust and noise in a manufacturing environment.
  • Travel to customer sites required.
  • Overtime up to 48 hours per week may be required, including some work on weekends.

Physical Requirements

  • Extended time spent standing, walking, kneeling, bending, and crouching.
  • Operation of a forklift and overhead crane.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
