Job Overview

Barts Health NHS Trust is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Nurse Lead to join our Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Team. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in coordinating and developing our quality infection prevention and control service across our sites.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Providing clinical and managerial leadership to the IPC Senior Nursing Team
  • Coordinating and developing quality infection prevention and control services across our sites
  • Working closely with our IPC Doctor and other stakeholders to contain and reduce the incidence of infection across the Trust
  • Developing and implementing governance frameworks and structures to minimize risk and improve patient safety
  • Collaborating with individuals and groups across professional and organizational boundaries to achieve our IPC goals
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Significant post-registration experience in infection prevention within an acute Trust
  • Clinical experience within acute healthcare and the ability to relate that experience to support staff in practice
  • Experience of professional leadership and training and facilitating staff and practice development in a variety of settings
  • Implementation of HR policies and procedures and evidence of regional or national working within the specialist field of practice
  • Development and use of governance frameworks and structures to minimize risk and improve patient safety
