Job Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Infection, Prevention and Control (IP&C) Team at Barts Health NHS Trust, based at The Royal London Hospital. As a key member of the team, you will play a vital role in delivering our aims and objectives in line with the Trust vision to provide safe and compassionate care to our patients.

Main Duties of the Job

The post holder will be responsible for coordinating and developing quality infection prevention and control services across the allocated site, providing leadership, support, and guidance to all trust staff. This includes providing clinical and managerial leadership to the Infection Prevention and Control Senior Nursing Team, practicing at an advanced level of autonomy and clinical decision-making.

Person Specification
  • Significant post-registration experience in infection prevention within an acute Trust
  • Clinical experience within acute healthcare, and ability to relate that experience to support staff in practice
  • Experience of professional leadership, training, and facilitating staff and practice development in a variety of settings
  • Implementation of HR policies and procedures, and development and use of governance frameworks and structures to minimise risk and improve patient safety
Desirable Criteria
  • Experience of publication or conference presentations
  • Advanced critical analysis skills, and experience of policy development and effective implementation
