About the Role:

We're seeking a skilled Career Development Advisor to join our team at IWFM | Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with members, helping them achieve their career goals and navigate available resources and services.

As a Career Development Advisor, you'll be responsible for providing one-to-one career support, creating personalized career development plans, and offering guidance on professional development opportunities. You'll also collaborate with our volunteer communities to recommend specialized awareness raising sessions and communicate regularly with members through various channels.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide career support to members, assessing their goals, strengths, and development needs.
  • Create personalized career development plans, including short-term and long-term goals.
  • Offer guidance on professional development opportunities, including training and qualifications.
  • Recommend relevant resources, such as articles, webinars, and workshops.
  • Collaborate with IWFM's volunteer communities to recommend specialized awareness raising sessions.
  • Communicate regularly with members through various channels, primarily phone, email, and in-person meetings.
  • Network with stakeholders and partners to provide a cohesive offer of support to members.
  • Work with internal teams to scope, create, and implement professional development resources.
  • Represent the organization at industry events and conferences to promote professional development programs and services.
  • Collect and evaluate feedback from members to identify areas for improvement and measure the impact of career development initiatives.
  • Line manage the Employer Support Advisor and Professional Development Advisor, ensuring SLAs are met and quality with organizational memberships is upheld.

Requirements:
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in professional development or a similar role.
  • Experience working in a membership organization or professional association.
  • Experience of line management.

About You:
  • Understanding of career development theories and practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and support diverse members.
  • Proficient in using different platforms and CRM systems, including online learning platforms.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to assess program effectiveness and member needs.
