About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Trainee Careers Adviser. As a key member of our community team in Manchester, you will play a vital role in engaging with 16-18-year-olds who are not in education, employment or training (NEET), helping them identify their career aspirations and secure fulfilling training and employment opportunities.
Salary
The starting salary for this position is £26,262 per annum, which will increase after a successful six-month probationary period and upon completion of your qualification with us.
Key Responsibilities
You will become part of a dynamic team that provides careers support to young people across Manchester, working closely with colleagues in partner organisations to improve outcomes. Your primary duties will include:
- Building meaningful relationships with young people, understanding their career skills and strengths, and helping them overcome personal barriers;
- Engaging with parents/carers and a range of professionals from support services, training providers, and employers across the city;
- Collaborating with colleagues to develop effective strategies for supporting young people in achieving their career goals;
- Providing tailored guidance and advice to help young people make informed decisions about their future careers.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must hold a relevant degree or equivalent qualification and have relevant experience. Excellent communication skills, effective time management, and the ability to travel independently are also essential.
