Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our dynamic team at Dr. Dobson and Partners. As a Primary Care Nurse Specialist, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and promoting healthy behaviors in our diverse patient population.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver specialist primary nurse-led services, including promoting healthy behaviors and disease prevention.
  • Maintain accurate disease registers in collaboration with administrative staff.
  • Conduct annual reviews of patients to ensure optimal health outcomes.
  • Administer child and adult immunizations and vaccinations in accordance with national and local programs.
  • Provide anaphylaxis and resuscitation training to patients and staff.
  • Ensure safe storage, rotation, and disposal of vaccines and medications, maintaining adequate stock levels.
  • Perform procedures such as blood pressure management, cytology, wound care, and nursing injections.
  • Promote health and wellbeing by providing general education on diet, smoking cessation, chronic disease management, and exercise.
  • Initiate and carry out health screenings as agreed upon with the practice clinical team.
  • Support patients with long-term conditions in adhering to prescribed treatments.
  • Encourage individuals, families, and groups to address health and social wellbeing issues.
  • Ensure data protection requirements are met when gathering, recording, and storing patient data.
  • Maintain good working relationships with all practice team members.
  • Collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team within the practice and across the wider healthcare system.
  • Adhere to the NMC Code of Conduct.
Person Specification
  • Qualified Registered Nurse with current NMC registration.
  • Desirable: Experience in wound management, nursing injections, cytology, and adult and child immunizations.
