Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our dynamic team at Dr. Dobson and Partners. As a Primary Care Nurse Specialist, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and promoting healthy behaviors in our diverse patient population.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver specialist primary nurse-led services, including promoting healthy behaviors and disease prevention.
  • Maintain accurate disease registers and collaborate with administrative staff to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Conduct annual reviews of patients and provide personalized care plans to meet their unique needs.
  • Administer child and adult immunizations and vaccinations in accordance with national and local programs.
  • Ensure competence in anaphylaxis and resuscitation techniques, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of emergency procedures.
  • Safely store, rotate, and dispose of vaccines and medications, and maintain adequate stock levels.
  • Perform procedures such as blood pressure management, cytology, wound care, and nursing injections, while prioritizing patient comfort and safety.
  • Promote health and wellbeing by providing general education on diet, smoking cessation, chronic disease management, and exercise.
  • Initiate and carry out health screenings as agreed upon with the practice clinical team.
  • Support patients with long-term conditions in adhering to prescribed treatments and promoting self-management.
  • Ensure all data protection requirements are met when gathering, recording, and storing patient data.
  • Maintain excellent working relationships with all members of the practice team, including multidisciplinary teams within the practice and across the wider healthcare system.
  • Adhere to the NMC Code of Conduct and maintain the highest standards of professional practice.
Person Specification
  • Qualified Registered Nurse with current registration with the NMC.
  • Desirable: Experience in wound management, nursing injections, cytology, and adult and child immunizations.
