About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Teaching Assistant to join our team at Teaching Personnel. As a key member of our support staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the mental health and wellbeing of our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Student Support: Provide individualized support to students with mental health needs, both one-on-one and in group settings.
  • Collaboration with Staff: Work closely with teachers, counsellors, and other support staff to identify and address student mental health concerns.
  • Support Planning: Assist in the development and implementation of individualized support plans to help students achieve their full potential.
  • Classroom Support: Support classroom activities and facilitate a positive learning environment that promotes student engagement and motivation.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and confidential records of student interactions and progress.
  • Professional Development: Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay informed about best practices in mental health support.
Requirements
  • Experience: Previous experience in a similar role or relevant experience working with children or adults with mental health difficulties.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of mental health issues and strategies for support, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Qualifications: Relevant qualifications in education, psychology, social work, or a related field are desirable.
