About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Support Specialist to join our team at Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust. In this role, you will play a vital part in providing support and guidance to children, young people, and adults experiencing a range of mental health challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivering evidence-based interventions such as motivational interviewing, solution-focused therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) or dialectical behavior therapy (DBT).
  • Conducting comprehensive assessments to understand individual needs and develop tailored support plans.
  • Working collaboratively with families, carers, and other professionals involved in the client's care.
  • Promoting recovery-focused practice by empowering individuals to manage their mental health and achieve their goals.
  • Adhering to strict safeguarding policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of all service users.

Essential Criteria

  • Demonstrated understanding and experience working with individuals facing diverse mental health challenges.
  • Proven ability to conduct assessments and implement psycho-social interventions effectively.
  • Experience collaborating with families, carers, and other stakeholders in a supportive manner.

Desirable Criteria

  • Knowledge and experience of Child and Adult Protection procedures.
  • Familiarity with a range of evidence-based interventions, including motivational interviewing, solution-focused therapy, CBT, and DBT.
