Mental Health Practitioner

Oxford Health NHS Trust is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Practitioner to join our team, providing vital support to children and young people experiencing severe mental health difficulties.
As a key member of the multidisciplinary care team, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality, evidence-based interventions within a community setting. Your expertise will be instrumental in empowering young individuals and their families to navigate challenges and achieve positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead the development of individualized care plans for children and young people, collaborating closely with families, keyworkers, and other professionals involved in their well-being.
- Establish and maintain therapeutic relationships built on trust and understanding, utilizing creative and evidence-based approaches to support mental health recovery.
- Provide expert assessment, planning, and review of care needs, ensuring a comprehensive and holistic approach to treatment.
- Contribute to the delivery of specialized services, such as the Liaison Service and the Community Model for Eating Disorders, offering tailored support to meet diverse needs.
- Utilize your knowledge of psychological therapies, including CBT, DBT, and Solution Focused approaches, to guide interventions and promote positive change.
- Provide time-limited, intensive community support during periods of crisis or mental health deterioration, working collaboratively with the team to ensure safe and effective care.
- Relevant professional qualification in mental health (e.g., Mental Health Nurse, Learning Disability Nurse, Occupational Therapist, Social Worker, Clinical Psychologist).
- Current registration with the relevant professional body (NMC, HCPC).
- Comprehensive understanding of mental health and community care legislation and policy.
- In-depth knowledge of Safeguarding policies and procedures.
- Experience working with children and young people experiencing a range of mental health challenges.
- Proven ability to conduct assessments and implement evidence-based interventions.
- Training in supervision and appraisal.
- Knowledge and experience of a range of psychological therapies (CBT, DBT).
- Experience in Child and Adult Protection work.
