About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Mental Health Practitioner to join our Crisis and Home Treatment Service (CAHTS) team, embedded within the Bath, North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire (BSW) Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS).

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake initial assessments and deliver short-term interventions to support children and young people in crisis with their mental health.
  • Visit children and young people in schools, at home, or within the wider community to provide psycho-social education and practical support.
  • Draw upon evidence-based interventions to support children and young people experiencing severe mental health difficulties.
  • Establish, maintain, and end purposeful, therapeutic relationships with children and young people.
  • Support the delivery of the Liaison Service by working closely with the CAMHS Liaison Practitioner.
  • Support the delivery of the Community Model for Eating Disorders, including mealtime supports within the home or school.
Requirements
  • Registered Practitioner with a relevant qualification in Mental Health, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, or a related field.
  • Experience working with children and young people with severe mental health difficulties.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with children, young people, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong assessment and intervention skills, with a focus on evidence-based practice.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends, as part of a rota system.
