Edinburgh, Edinburgh, United Kingdom Council of Deans of Health Full time
Position Overview
The Council of Deans of Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Research Associate to join our team. As a senior researcher, you will have the opportunity to capitalise on your experience of acute and/or critical care research while travelling to Intensive Care Units across the UK for data collection.

The successful candidate will have the chance to work on a Process Evaluation of a UK-wide randomised controlled trial (RCT) called SHORTER funded by NIHR HTA. This project aims to explore how the intervention is working in critical care, assesses whether it is delivered as planned, and evaluate its content and delivery.

In this role, you will apply your research expertise in intensive care settings, collaborating with clinical and research teams at study sites and the Newcastle Clinical Trials Unit. You will conduct data collection through observations and interviews, both in-person during site visits and remotely via tele/video conferencing. Your previous experience in qualitative research and ability to travel independently will be valuable assets in this position.

As such, these face-to-face interactions will enable you to build meaningful connections with study participants and the research teams, allowing you to gather and analyse valuable data that will be later prepared for journal and report publications. This is an excellent opportunity for you as a researcher to transition into a senior role, develop your leadership skills and gain valuable experience that could contribute to you achieving the next step in your academic and research career.
