Are you a highly motivated researcher looking to transition into a senior role? We have an exciting opportunity for a Part-time Senior Research Associate to join our team at the Council of Deans of Health. As a leading academic community, we are committed to making a positive impact on health, care, and society.

We are partnering with Newcastle Clinical Trials Unit on a project funded by the National Institute for Health and Care Research Health Technology Assessment (NIHR HTA) to evaluate the effectiveness of short-duration antibiotic therapy in critically ill patients with sepsis. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a Process Evaluation of a UK-wide randomised controlled trial (RCT) called SHORTER, exploring how the intervention is working in critical care and assessing its content and delivery.

This is an excellent opportunity for a researcher to develop leadership skills and gain valuable experience in intensive care settings. You will work collaboratively with clinical and research teams at study sites and the Newcastle Clinical Trials Unit, conducting data collection through observations and interviews. A postgraduate qualification in a relevant field, including completed or near-completion PhD or equivalent academic attainment, is essential for this role.

The salary for this position is £45,163 per annum, and the contract is fixed-term from 01 March 2025 to 31 August 2026. The hours are part-time, 21 hours per week.
