Mental Health Support Worker Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Mental Health Support Worker to join our team at Gray Healthcare Ltd. As a Mental Health Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting an individual with complex needs, including Treatment Resistant Schizophrenia, COPD, and Heart Failure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide 1:1 support to the individual, promoting independence and well-being.
  • Develop and implement personalized care plans, taking into account the individual's needs and goals.
  • Work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team to ensure seamless support and care.
  • Support the individual in maintaining a healthy lifestyle, including medication management and health-related activities.
  • Assist with daily living tasks, such as personal care, meal preparation, and household management.
Requirements:
  • Experience in social care, ideally within mental health, with a focus on supporting individuals with complex needs.
  • Ability to work with individuals who may exhibit challenging behaviors.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with the individual, family, and carers.
  • Current Right to Work in the UK and a minimum of 6 months' employment history in the UK.
  • Enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.

  • Competitive hourly rate of £11.55.
  • 12 hour contracts, with 1 x 12 hour shift per week during the day.
