About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Administrator to join our team in Exeter. In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring patient referrals, booking appointments, and ensuring that patients are referred back into the programme as required. You will also be working closely with maternity units to ensure that pregnant patients are referred to the Diabetic Eye Screening Programme.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor patient referrals and ensure that they are processed in line with guidance and policy
- Support the booking of appointments for patients based on their referral type
- Ensure that patients on discharge are referred back into the programme within the correct pathway
- Liaise with maternity units to ensure that pregnant patients are referred to the Diabetic Eye Screening Programme
- Audit the status of patients to ensure that they are seen at least annually
- Review and respond to individual queries and data capture
Requirements
- GCSE or equivalent qualifications and/or training/experience in patient care
- Experience in dealing with customers and/or patients and knowledge of how to handle their queries effectively and sensitively
- Comfortable with audits and reporting
- Good listener with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Aware of the importance of patient confidentiality and data protection
- Flexible in weekly working patterns and locations as required
- Team player who is supportive, reliable, and trustworthy
- Approachable, dedicated, and hardworking
- People person who enjoys working alongside and helping others
- Calm and focused in challenging situations
- Great at organising things and able to prioritise their workload
- Good at attention to detail
