Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced administrative professional to provide high-quality support to the Lumbar Spine Pathway at University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative and secretarial services, including typing, managing appointments and waiting lists, and coordinating referrals.

Main Responsibilities

  1. To provide administrative support to the Lumbar Spine Pathway, including typing, data entry, and management of waiting lists.
  2. To coordinate referrals and ensure that patients are booked into clinics in a timely manner.
  3. To provide a high level of customer service to patients, carers, and other professionals visiting the department.
  4. To maintain accurate records and reports, including waiting list statistics and patient information.
  5. To work closely with the ESP team to ensure seamless coordination of services.

Person Specification

Essential

  • Previous experience in an administrative or secretarial role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work accurately and methodically in a busy working environment.
  • Time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks.

Desirable

  • Experience of working in a healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of appointment systems and waiting list management.

Qualifications

Essential

  • 5 GCSEs grade 9-4 (A - C grade) or equivalent qualification or equivalent demonstrable experience.
  • OCR 3 standard or equivalent.
