The Role

This is what a career at River Island entails. As our Senior Retail Operations Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in driving omni-channel sales and data capture by delivering exceptional customer service on the high street.

  • Focus on increasing conversion through customer engagement and spreading the joy of fashion.
  • Inspire customers using verbal and visual engagement with our products.
  • Achieve and enhance brand standards, including strong visuals.
  • Support achieving targets and drive key results by implementing strategic actions.
  • Use reports to make commercial and financial decisions that increase profit.
  • Be aware of cost control, how to drive, and protect profit.
  • Take full responsibility for all areas of retail risk and health & safety.
Leadership/Teamwork
  • Coach and develop talent, driving succession and creating strong teams.
  • Support the management team and take accountability in their absence.
  • Lead a team by motivating and encouraging teamwork to achieve goals.
  • Manage performance and provide in-the-moment feedback.
  • Implement and delegate tasks with close follow-up, leading by example with a hands-on approach.

  • Learn quickly, thoroughly, and deliver detailed work.
  • Manage challenges and pressure, adjusting quickly to changing circumstances and finding solutions supported by management.

Requirements
  • Prior experience as a Floor Manager or an experienced Supervisor/Team Leader looking for their next step up.
  • You may also be a small Store/Deputy Manager seeking to move into a larger turnover environment.
  • Good understanding of the latest trends and competitors.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Experience in Visual Merchandising (VM).
  • Ability to analyze reports and make commercial decisions.
  • Self-motivation and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to engage your team.
  • Passion for delivering a world-class customer experience.
  • Ability to make decisions, problem-solve, and take accountability with good planning skills.
