About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mental Health Practitioner to join our team in the Crisis Response Service. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing telephone triaging and support to service users who are in crisis, as well as providing counselling support to service users and their families.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide telephone triaging and support to service users who are in crisis
  • Provide counselling support to service users and their families
  • Guide service users in the development of skills and strategies for dealing with their problems
  • Collect information about service users through telephone and face-to-face interviews to assess risk and adapt management plans
  • Evaluate service users' physical or mental condition based on review of client information
  • Signpost service users or their families to community resources or other organizations if appropriate
  • Work collaboratively with police officers to manage people with mental health problems

Requirements

  • RMN with a minimum of 2 years' experience
  • Experience/knowledge of crisis resolution services
  • De-escalation skills and ability to make autonomous decisions
  • Knowledge of the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards
  • Good leadership skills and ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
