Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Regional Violence Prevention Specialist to join our team at the New Zealand Government. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing comprehensive systems to prevent and reduce violence at work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the development and effective delivery of services to prevent and reduce the harms from violence at work.
  • Lead, inform, educate, and support staff who experience incidents of violence at work.
  • Ensure that staff, patients, and visitors who display escalated behaviors are safe and feel supported, respected, and have their cultural needs met.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive systems for staff awareness, education, training, mitigation, de-escalation, and safe practice.
  • Collaborate with clinical, health, and safety, and healthcare security disciplines to mitigate violence at work.
Requirements
  • 5 years' experience in a safety services role, crime prevention, or CPI Safety Intervention Trainer.
  • Experience in facilitating and developing adult education programs, particularly in health, safety, and crime prevention.
  • Experienced and competent in the use of Microsoft Office suite of products.
  • A commitment to being a good Te Tiriti partner in all actions, including an understanding of the significance of and obligations under Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
  • Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth.
