About the Job

The post holder will work under the direction of the Head of Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health Professions Education (NMAHP) and will be expected to use their initiative, analytical skills and judgement. In collaboration with the education providers, ensure the management of the portfolio of student placements within the Trust.

The role will include working in collaboration with Practice Placement Facilitators (PPFs) both within the Trust and also in other Trusts to share student AHP capacity, modelling of best practice and continuously enhance the learning opportunities and support strategies for students.

You will lead the quality of learning and support within the clinical environment by providing support, educational input and development activities for practice supervisors/practice assessors (mentors/preceptors/Educators) and students/learners on AHP programmes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver formal teaching sessions, using suitable teaching aids as necessary and continuously evaluate this.
  • Support cohorts of pre-registration students and apprentices during their clinical placements.
  • Offer professional coaching to mentors (supervisors/assessors) in practice.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of audit tools, data collection and analysis ensuring that results have a continuous improvement plan.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Practice Assessor qualification (teaching qualification or equivalent).
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.
  • Good knowledge of contemporary issues in Practice Education.
  • Teaching experience.
  • IT skills to ensure databases and records are kept up to date.
