Mathematics Department Leader

This is an excellent opportunity to work with a specialist day school in Rugby, as a dedicated Head of Maths. The school caters to a diverse group of pupils aged 6-16 with complex learning needs, social and emotional difficulties, and challenging behaviours.
Job Description- To develop and implement effective learning programmes that promote sound practice and facilitate physical, emotional, social, cultural, and moral development.
- To teach individual pupils or small groups, review lessons, and adapt teaching styles according to school practice and policy.
- To participate in arrangements for preparing pupils for public examinations, assessing them, recording and reporting assessments, and supervising during examinations.
- To supervise pupils whose teacher is absent and, where possible, teach them.
- To contribute to the review of curriculum and organisational activities.
- To act as a faculty coordinator, overseeing coordination, self-evaluation, and development planning for the maths group of subjects.
- Prior teaching experience at the relevant age range.
- Qualified Teacher status.
- Subject/Key Stage knowledge.
- Able to deliver a flexible, differentiated curriculum for pupils with low ability levels.
- Team worker.
- Able to manage challenging behaviour.
- High standard communication and interaction skills.
