About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Community Alarm Officer. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing a high-quality service to our customers, ensuring their safety and well-being.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and install telecare equipment in individuals' homes, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Operate the control centre equipment, receiving and responding to incoming calls in a timely and professional manner.
  • Identify emergency situations, assess customer needs, and initiate appropriate action to ensure their safety and well-being.
  • Provide a courteous and professional service to customers, colleagues, and other stakeholders, offering information, advice, and support as needed.
  • Participate in the operation of the Council's Appraisal Scheme, championing and executing an open culture of Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) throughout the council.
  • Undertake safety checks on fleet vehicles, providing emergency first aid and lifting and handling as required.

Person Specification

  • Experience of working with vulnerable people in a caring capacity, either in their own home or in a residential setting.
  • Experience of social alarm or similar equipment within a control centre or other environment.
  • Experience of using modern ICT packages, paying attention to detail when inputting sensitive data.
  • Ability to prioritize emergency calls and respond to primary calls first.

Qualifications

  • Literacy Level 2 qualification as a minimum or equivalent.
