Biomedical Equipment Maintenance Specialist

We are recruiting a skilled Biomedical Equipment Specialist to join our team at HCA Harborne Hospital in Birmingham. As a Biomedical Equipment Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and effectiveness of medical equipment across various hospital locations.
About the RoleThis is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and experienced Engineer to lead the maintenance and repair of medical devices. You will be responsible for:
- Performing scheduled preventative maintenance on medical equipment in accordance with manufacturer guidelines
- Completing repairs as required on medical equipment in accordance with manufacturer guidelines
- Managing associated administrative tasks to close repairs and maintenance
- Traveling to various sites to perform Corrective and Preventive Maintenance
- Maintaining safe working practices within the hospital environment
- Exceeding contract KPIs to ensure customer satisfaction
- Maintaining spare part stock as necessary
- Supporting the Site/Team Leader as needed
Key Responsibilities:
- Scheduling and completing workload for assigned customers within area
- Maintaining service documentation in line with business requirements
- Responsible for escalating and defining necessary resources to maintain equipment
- Responsible for delivering customer satisfaction
- Liaising with 3rd party suppliers for spare part and contract quotations
- Dealing with OEM service staff and management when required
- Maintaining tools and test equipment in line with company Standards
- Attending customer meetings when required
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Engineer with a minimum of 2 years Biomedical experience in a service and repair of medical equipment. You should have familiarity with appropriate national and local regulatory standards, a qualification in Engineering, electronics or medical technologies such as biomedical engineering, and field service experience.
You will also have experience of working in clinical areas and communicating with patients, be confident to work on various pieces of medical equipment, and have a minimum of ONC in Electronics or equivalent.
