Biomedical Engineer - Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Biomedical Engineer to carry out the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of a wide range of medical devices ensuring safety and functionality standards.

Biomedical Engineer - Key Responsibilities:

  • Medical Equipment Maintenance: Inspect, maintain, and repair medical equipment to ensure compliance with safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
  • Troubleshooting and Repair: Diagnose and troubleshoot complex technical issues with medical devices and systems, providing effective solutions to minimize downtime.
  • Service Records: Maintain detailed service records, including maintenance logs, repair reports, and parts inventories.
  • Clinical Collaboration: Collaborate with hospital staff and clinical teams to ensure the proper functioning of medical equipment critical to patient care.
  • Technology Updates: Stay updated on the latest medical equipment technologies and repair techniques, and implement best practices in the maintenance program.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory standards, including FDA, OSHA, and Joint Commission requirements.

Biomedical Engineer - Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in Biomedical Engineering in the UK, with a focus on medical equipment repair and maintenance.
  • Certifications: Certified OEM Training & Electrical Testing.
  • Skills: In-depth knowledge of a wide range of medical devices, including diagnostic, therapeutic, ventilators, anaesthesia, patient monitoring, diathermies (electro surgery units), theatre tables, defibrillators, infusion & volumetric devices. Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, testing equipment, and repair software.
  • Personal Qualities: Commitment to continuous improvement and staying current with advances in medical technology.

Estimated Salary: £45,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on experience.
