About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Biomedical Scientist to join our team at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. As a Biomedical Scientist, you will play a crucial role in providing a patient-focused quality service that is committed to the trust values.
Main Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for safely handling, using, and disposing of biological samples, including blood, urine, faeces, CSF, and semen, body tissues, and other body fluids/samples, and hazardous and/or radioactive chemicals. They will also be required to maintain compliance with good laboratory practice, quality assurance procedures in accordance with the standards of UKAS ISO 15189:2003.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a BSc (Hons) Biomedical Science or equivalent academic achievement that is ratified by the Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS), state registration with Health Professions Council (HPC), and evidence of continuing professional development and proficiency in accordance with HPC guidelines.
