Edinburgh, Edinburgh, United Kingdom Financial Conduct Authority Full time
Employee Relations Specialist Role

The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) is seeking an experienced Employee Relations Specialist to join its HR Policy & Delivery team. As an ER Specialist, you will provide end-to-end ER support and advice to managers and HRBPs on ER cases across the FCA and Payment Systems Regulator (PSR).

You will work closely with the ER team to facilitate complex ER cases, including investigations, disciplinary hearings, absence, appeals, grievances, and performance management. Your expertise will be essential in providing professional, customer-focused, and commercial expert advice across the breadth of ER-related change projects.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Project management: providing expert advice on ER-related change projects, such as business restructuring and redundancy.
  • Litigation: liaising with ACAS and responding to early conciliation claims, and partnering with external legal advisors on Employment Tribunal hearings.
  • Building working relationships: working with HRBPs, line managers, and internal teams to resolve employee-related matters.
  • Ad-hoc ER project work: providing ER advice and procuring employment law opinion on cross-function projects.
  • Policy development and continuous process improvement: contributing to the evolution of ER policies and practices to comply with UK employment legislation and FCA/PSR requirements.

The FCA offers a competitive flexible benefits scheme, including 25 days holiday per year, private healthcare, and a non-contributory pension. We support hybrid working, allowing you to work from home up to 60% of the time. If you are passionate about Employee Relations and have a desire to make a real impact, we encourage you to apply.

About the FCA:

The FCA regulates the conduct of 50,000 firms in the UK to ensure our financial markets are honest, fair, and competitive. Our ambition is to cultivate a culture of inclusion for all employees that respects their individual strengths, views, and experiences.

We welcome applications from candidates who are looking for flexible arrangements and are committed to providing a wide range of reasonable adjustments.
