About the Role:

We are seeking a motivated and passionate Occupational Therapist to join our Community Mental Health team in East Cornwall.

In collaboration with our system partners, we will be expanding and improving all corners of mental health services, including our acute care pathway, specialist services, and community mental health model of care.

Key Responsibilities:

To maintain and further develop the current Occupational Therapy role within the Community Mental Health Team, including 1:1 and group provision.

Provision of Occupational Therapy to a defined caseload of patients within the Community Mental Health Service, using evidence-based practice, Occupational Therapy process, and client-centered principles.

To contribute to assessment and planning, implementation, and evaluation of interventions within the context of a multi-disciplinary team.

About the Department:

We are an NHS community and mental health provider Trust based in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, delivering community and hospital-based care to improve people's physical and mental health.

We work in people's homes, in community clinics and bases, and some staff work from one of our 13 community hospitals.

Requirements:

  • HCPC registration
  • BSc/Diploma in Occupational therapy
  • Relevant post-graduate qualification or equivalent specialist experience
  • Experience of working within multidisciplinary services within the community
  • Current experience within a mental health setting
  • Proven experience of working with patients with complex and challenging needs
