About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and passionate Occupational Therapist to join our community mental health team in East Cornwall. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our patients.
Main Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the current Occupational Therapy role within the Community Mental Health Team, including 1:1 and group provision.
- Provide Occupational Therapy to a defined caseload of patients within the Community Mental Health Service, using evidence-based practice and client-centered principles.
- Contribute to assessment and planning, implementation, and evaluation of interventions within the context of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Support with generic tasks within the team as required.
- Contribute to the development of the Trust Occupational Therapy Service and best practice initiatives.
- Support with the development of Occupational Therapy support worker role within the team.

Essential
- HCPC registration
- BSc/Diploma in Occupational therapy
- Relevant post-graduate qualification or equivalent specialist experience eg. AMPS, Sensory Integration, DBT
Experience
Essential
- Experience of working within multidisciplinary services within the community
- Current experience within a mental health setting
- Proven experience of working with patients with complex and challenging needs, including physical and cognitive impairment
- Experience of facilitating groups such as ECS, Compassionate minds
- Experience of developing and reviewing a group work programme
