Job Summary:

This role is to process council tax work to help clear a large outstanding volume at present. This will mainly be moves and correspondence.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage a caseload in the day-to-day administration, billing, collection, and recovery of Council Tax and Business Rates. Interpret and apply the Local Government Finance Act 1992 and Southwark Council's policies and procedures to ensure Best Value indicators are achieved.

Key Duties:

Identify and take collection action on accounts relating to Miscellaneous Income and Housing Benefit Overpayments. Liaise with service departments on uncollectable debts. Seek efficient collection routes and influence the implementation of best practice processes.

Requirements:

Experience in NEC Northgate and NECDM is essential. Significant experience in Revenues administration working practice and procedures is also required. 5 GCSEs (including English and Maths) or equivalent is essential.

Working Arrangements:

36 hours per week. Up-to-date basic DBS check is required. The role is hybrid, with working from home available if required.
