About the Role

As a Medical Equipment Specialist at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and effective use of radiotherapy equipment. Your responsibilities will include managing medical devices, providing technical support, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where you will have the chance to develop your skills and expertise in medical equipment management. You will be responsible for:

  • Participating in the management of medical devices including installation, planned maintenance, calibration, diagnosis, repair, modification, and upgrade of radiotherapy equipment.
  • Providing direct technical support and advice to radiotherapy managers, key trainers, and users of the technology.
  • Being aware of the safety and reliability aspects of any medical device they may be involved with and take appropriate action to deal with any discrepancies.
  • Carrying out risk analysis and risk management as part of medical device management.
  • Communicating complex technical information to a range of staff groups within the radiotherapy department and external equipment manufacturers, contractors, and other personnel.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have professional registration as a clinical technologist, healthcare scientist, or healthcare science practitioner. A salary of £35,000 - £45,000 per annum (dependent on experience) reflects the importance of this position and the value we place on our staff.
