Job Summary

The Director of Primary Care Transformation will lead the programme of primary care transformation across all independent contractor services, working with key stakeholders to deliver the necessary transformation of primary care services and workforce. The post holder will have overall responsibility for the implementation plan and driving performance improvements and new ways of working across NHS Scotland.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the programme of primary care transformation across all independent contractor services
  • Work with key stakeholders to deliver the necessary transformation of primary care services and workforce
  • Develop a shared strategic direction, priorities, and collective accountability, supported by governance arrangements of multi-partner oversight groups
  • Oversee Primary Care Contracts - General Medical and Ophthalmic, as well as the implementation and provision of new service models for GP Out of Hours services in Greater Glasgow and Clyde
  • Attend the Corporate Management Team (CMT) as and when required and attend NHS Scotland Board meetings to provide advice on issues related to the delivery of primary care services
Requirements

The post holder will require an ability to work as part of a whole system with other directors and evidence of strategic thinking applied to organisational achievement. Demonstrable strategic and operational experience at Corporate Management team level in a complex healthcare system is required. A detailed understanding of health and social care best practice and policy and national credibility in your field with excellent oral and written communication skills is essential.
