Job Title: Graduate Mental Health Practitioner

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Graduate Mental Health Practitioner. This exciting opportunity will provide the successful candidate with the chance to develop their skills and knowledge in systemic family interventions, working with children, young people, and their families.

About the Role

This is a one-year fixed-term training post, where the successful candidate will work in a multi-disciplinary team delivering high-quality, outcome-informed, systemic family interventions to children, young people, and their families. The role involves travel between sites, and access to transport for work purposes is essential.

As a Graduate Mental Health Practitioner, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients, including children, young people, and their families, presenting with behaviour difficulties, low mood, and self-harm. You will be working under supervision, completing an AFT accredited Postgraduate Diploma in Systemic Family Practice through GMMH PTTC based at Prestwich, Manchester, in partnership with the University of Manchester.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality, outcome-informed, systemic family interventions to children, young people, and their families.
  • Work under supervision, completing an AFT accredited Postgraduate Diploma in Systemic Family Practice.
  • Carry a small caseload of suitable training cases (around 6 to 8 at any one time).
  • Travel between sites, using access to transport for work purposes.
Person Specification
  • Professional Registration - Registered Mental Health Nurse, Social Worker, Occupational Therapist, or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Ability to meet CYP Psychological Trainings Postgraduate Diploma course requirements.
  • At least two years experience of working in child and adolescent mental health services.
  • Ability to work autonomously with young people and families.
