About the Role

The Training & Competence Lead will be part of a dynamic team at CAF Rail UK Ltd to support the development and delivery of comprehensive training and competency standard compliance, primarily for the Transport For Wales project and CAF Rail UK operations as required.

This role is responsible for supporting the development of assessment plans and implementing technical/non-technical training across the business. The successful candidate will ensure effective implementation of Railway Group Standards, industry codes of practice, strategies, and policies sufficient to the safe use, operation, and maintenance of Traction and Rolling Stock.

You will also be responsible for assisting CAF Rail UK in maintaining the integrity of its ROGs compliance, as well as supporting risk management and safety performance activities.

Daily Duties

  • Implement and maintain a robust Training, Competence, Learning & Development strategy aligned to the needs and strategic objectives of CAF Rail UK.
  • Deliver against an agreed set of objectives and KPIs aligned to the organisation's strategy and objectives established by the team and lead by the Training and Competence Manager.
  • Implement Training, Competence, Learning & Development requirements aligned to our clients/customers (including our contractual obligations).
  • Maintain a comprehensive and compliant Competency Management Information System (CMIS) within designated projects meeting all relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure accurate and appropriate training records are held with a suitable system allowing access to this information.
  • Develop relevant training material for provision both internally and externally (to clients) as required, incorporating E-Learning technology for delivery across multiple locations.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues across the business (internal customers/stakeholders).

About What We Pay

We pay competitively at CAF, offering a salary in the region of £43,000 per annum.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Educated to a HNC level in a relevant field of mechanical/electrical engineering.
  • Served a recognised engineering apprenticeship.
  • Train the Trainer Qualification.
  • A1 (D32/33) NVQ Assessor Qualification.
