About the Role:

The South and Vale District Councils operate a shared building control service, and we are looking for a skilled leader to manage and deliver this service. As a Senior Building Regulations Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with building regulations and associated legislation.

Main Responsibilities:

  • To undertake the necessary professional duties associated with ensuring compliance with building regulations
  • To develop, maintain, and refine team processes and procedures to support and facilitate the delivery of a high-quality and efficient building control service
  • To manage the team in carrying out site inspections to ensure compliance to building regulations and other relevant legislation

Requirements:

  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of Building Act, The Building Regulations, and all associated legislative frameworks relating to Building Control
  • Proven experience of successfully managing and leading a team
  • Ability to communicate ideas and expectations clearly, succinctly, using plain language
  • Excellent organisational skills together with prioritisation of available resources and management of appropriate performance systems

Salary and Benefits: The salary for this role is estimated at £60,000 per annum, plus benefits such as flexible working hours, annual leave, and pension scheme.
