Job Overview

The role will involve ensuring compliance with building regulations, developing and maintaining team processes and procedures, and managing site inspections to ensure compliance. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills, be able to communicate effectively, and demonstrate political awareness and sensitivity.

About the Role
  • Lead the building control service and operational objectives for South and Vale District Council
  • Ensure all customers receive services that provide improvement and value for money
  • Develop and maintain team processes and procedures to support the delivery of a high-quality building control service
Main Responsibilities
  • Undertake professional duties associated with ensuring compliance with building regulations
  • Manage the team in carrying out site inspections to ensure compliance with building regulations
  • Develop and refine team processes and procedures to support the delivery of a high-quality building control service
Your Essential Skills, Knowledge, and Experience
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of building regulations and associated legislative frameworks
  • Proven experience of successfully managing and leading a team
  • Able to communicate ideas and expectations clearly, succinctly, using plain language

What We Offer
  • A basic salary of £59,415 per annum, rising to £64,590 per annum after 5 years
  • 25 days annual leave per annum, rising to 30 days after 5 years
  • A flexible working arrangement and annualised hours
