Senior Bioinformatics Researcher

We are seeking a highly skilled Bioinformatics Scientist to join our team at Illumina. As a senior member of our bioinformatics team, you will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing bioinformatic solutions that drive innovation and impact in the field of genomics.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and develop bioinformatics projects, leveraging your extensive experience in the field to drive results.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define bioinformatics milestones and requirements, and contribute to project strategy.
- Develop novel tools and pipelines to analyze and interpret large datasets, and contribute to the design and development of automated testing infrastructure and pipelines.
- Represent bioinformatics in R&D projects across multiple sites, and lead the data quality and bioinformatics function in a product development team.
- Strong programming skills and experience with at least one programming language, such as Python or R.
- Familiarity with next-generation sequencing technologies and experience with data analysis and visualization of next-generation sequencing data and large datasets.
- Solid understanding of statistical and biological concepts, and experience with Unix/Linux environments, including shell scripting and High Performance Computing (HPC) cluster usage.
- Experience in designing or architecting automated workflows, and strong effective communication skills driven by collaborating with a diverse network.
