Radioactive Materials Transportation Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Radioactive Materials Transportation Specialist to join our team at ZipRecruiter. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and compliant transportation of radioactive materials across various locations.

The Role:
- As the principal Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor, you will advise on operational and regulatory aspects of radioactive material transports to ensure compliance with UK and international regulations.
- You will manage updates of company procedures and transport compliance matrices to ensure processes are fully compliant with transport regulatory requirements.
- You will agree and act as the main point of contact for transport proposals with UEC and/or external transport companies and other URENCO sites.
- You will coordinate the use of cylinder-related equipment and other equipment used in connection with the transport of dangerous goods.
- You will evaluate and authorize documentation required to perform international radioactive material and dangerous goods transports.
- You will provide day-to-day supervision and guidance to the Site Services transport team.
Requirements:
- A qualified Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor with recognized transport qualifications.
- Highly numerate with a minimum pass mark of 90% on the Logistics Services numeracy test.
- Proficient in SAP, Excel, and other relevant software.
- An excellent understanding of plant and transport operations, typically gained through several years of experience.

- An estimated salary of £50,000 - £65,000 per annum, depending on experience.
- Annual leave starting at 25 days, increasing by one day for every two years of service up to a maximum of 30 days.
