Job Title

Nuclear Waste Manager

Job Purpose

To manage and oversee the handling of radioactive waste, stockpiles, and nuclear materials accountancy and safeguards on the site.

ResponsibilitiesWaste Management Strategy
  • Develop a comprehensive strategy for radioactive waste management across the site.
  • Promote and implement the waste hierarchy to minimize environmental impact.
  • Oversight of arrangements for characterization, consignment, and disposal of radioactive waste.
Nuclear Materials Accountancy
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of nuclear materials inventory and transactions.
  • Maintain robust safeguards to prevent diversion or loss of nuclear materials.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Estimated Salary Range

£72,000 - £92,000 per annum.

Key Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in nuclear waste management or a related field.
  • Proven track record of leading teams and managing complex projects.
