AWE is currently seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Material Control Technician to join our team in Reading, UK.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a team that handles and manages nuclear materials, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safe handling, movement, and storage of nuclear materials in accordance with procedures.
  • Assist the Accountable Nuclear Materials Inventory Holder in maintaining accurate inventory records.
  • Implement high standards of environment, safety, health, security, and quality in daily operations.
  • Operate and maintain nuclear materials accountancy systems.
  • Flexibility to work shifts if required.
  • Possess a strong educational background in mathematics and English (GCSE grade C/4 or equivalent).
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, including Word and Excel.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Broad knowledge of inventory control, storage, handling, and movement of radioactive/hazardous materials.
