About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Fire Safety Specialist to join our team at CV-Library. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of fire safety across our housing assets, ensuring services are maintained and improved.

The goal is to provide an operational fire safety management function for all Council-owned and managed housing assets, delivering continuous improvement in resident safety.

The role involves supporting compliance with both statutory and non-statutory fire safety legislation and associated building regulations. This includes carrying out fire risk assessments across all of the council's housing stock, ensuring the FRA programme is delivered on time and to the required standard through a quality assurance programme.

To maintain compliance with legislation, performance data, risk assessments, and audits of Council-owned and managed housing assets will be utilized. As a subject matter expert for the council, the Fire Safety Specialist will support, develop, and maintain the Housing Fire Risk Management Policy.

This position requires collaboration with managers and staff at all levels within the Council to implement fire safety standards and initiatives. The specialist fire safety officer will focus on a specific field of fire safety, such as sheltered accommodation, temporary housing, vulnerable persons, or fire engineering.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out fire risk assessments across all Council-owned and managed housing assets
  • Ensure compliance with statutory and non-statutory fire safety legislation and associated building regulations
  • Support development and maintenance of the Housing Fire Risk Management Policy

The estimated salary for this role is £42,500 per annum.
