About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Renal Unit at St George's Hospital. As a Staff Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to patients with kidney failure, working closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver excellent patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide excellent nursing care to patients with renal conditions, including those undergoing dialysis and kidney transplantation.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care according to individual patient needs.
- Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to achieve excellent patient outcomes.
- Develop and maintain skills in renal nursing, including knowledge of renal physiology, dialysis, and transplantation.
- Participate in the management of the ward or department, taking charge and contributing to decision-making.
Person Specification
- Registered Nurse (general) with a minimum of 12 months post-registration experience.
- Ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care according to individual patient needs.
- Ability to effectively prioritize workload and patient care needs.
- Demonstrates an understanding of clinical risk and ability to take charge of the ward in the absence of the Ward Manager.
- Demonstrates an understanding of the importance of research and evidence-based practice, and ability to explain the principles of mentoring and assessing junior staff.
