Renal Nursing Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Renal Nursing Specialist to join our team at Great Ormond Street Hospital. As a Practice Facilitator for Renal Care, you will play a crucial role in developing and delivering high-quality education and training to our nursing staff.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in paediatric haemodialysis and renal nursing, with excellent teaching and training skills. You will work closely with our Practice Educators and other healthcare professionals to ensure that our staff receive the best possible care and support.

Main Duties of the Job- Develop and deliver high-quality education and training to nursing staff
- Work closely with Practice Educators and other healthcare professionals to ensure excellent patient care
- Contribute to the development of our renal nursing team and the delivery of high-quality patient care
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of our renal nursing services
- NMC Registered Nurse - relevant to area of practice Nephrology and Haemodialysis
- Relevant nursing qualification
- Evidence of on-going continuing professional development within Nephrology/Haemodialysis speciality linked to demonstrable clinical competencies and level 6 academic study within the speciality
- Assessor or practice supervisor qualification/experience
- Leadership or Management Training
- Excellent teaching and training skills
- Strong background in paediatric haemodialysis and renal nursing
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well in a team and on own initiative
- Ability to delegate tasks as appropriate
- Knowledge and understanding of diverse backgrounds and perspectives
- Experience of having worked with acute/chronically sick children or specialised transferable skills
- Understanding of professional and current issues in children's nursing
- Understanding of Diversity and Inclusion challenges in the workplace
