Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Planning Officer to join our team at Tunbridge Wells Borough Council. As a key member of our planning department, you will play a crucial role in determining applications and delivering high-quality development that aligns with our local plan.

As a Planning Officer, you will be responsible for managing your own case load of planning applications, pre-application advice requests, and other work. You will work closely with our team to ensure that all applications are processed efficiently and effectively.

We are looking for someone with a strong understanding of town planning principles and a passion for delivering high-quality development. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of planning applications and pre-application advice requests
  • Process planning applications in accordance with our local plan and planning policies
  • Provide expert advice to applicants and stakeholders on planning matters
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders to ensure efficient and effective application processing
  • Contribute to the development of planning policies and strategies
